Foreign Supplier Verification Program
We now offer a comprehensive study of the compliance requirements for the FDA's Foreign Supplier Verification Program for yourself or your team. This program covers verification procedures for all imported food shipments of food subject to the Preventive Control rule or the Standards for Produce Safety rule, where from time of entry the FDA requires the food importer to declare through Customs’ and FDA’s electronic entry filing systems the Name, the Facility Address, and the Unique Identifier (the DUNS#) of the person designated as the “FSVP importer” for the shipment.
You may be the FDA Registered FSVP Importer:
“The U.S. owner or consignee of the imported food product at the time of entry. This includes the party in the U.S. who is the actual owner or purchaser of the food at the time of entry. This could include a U.S. party who has agreed in writing to purchase the food.

GLOBALG.A.P. is an internationally recognized standard with a crucial objective: assisting producers in implementing safe, sustainable and socially responsible farming practices worldwide which will in turn help the producers gain optimal market access.
The GLOBALG.A.P. standards that CCI offers are the GLOBALG.A.P. Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA), the Harmonized Produce Safety Standard (HPSS) as well as as Produce Handling Assurance (PHA). These standards are GFSI Benchmarked and cover Good Agricultural
Practices, using the GLOBALG.A.P. normative documents applicable to these standards.
IFA and HPSS cover crops growing, harvest and handling. IFA and HPSS is available as Option 1 Single-site, Multi-site as well as QMS/Option 2.
PHA is a stand-alone GLOBALG.A.P. standard for produce packing and storage. PHA is available as Option 1 Single-site and Option 1 Multi-site without QMS.
CCI offers all these 3 standards for GLOBALG.A.P. Sub-scopes: Fruit and Vegetable (FV), Combinable Crops (including hemp) (CC) and Hops (HO).
Certification Criteria:
The IFA, HPSS and PHA standards all consist of General Rules, Control Points and Compliance Criteria. The GFSI benchmarked versions of IFA, HPSS and PHA are all accepted by large retailers in North America.
The IFA (Integrated Farm Assurance) Standard is a globally harmonized scheme for Good Agricultural Practices. The IFA standard includes among other food safety, environmental sustainability and worker welfare components. IFA v5.4.1-GFS is GFSI benchmarked.
The HPSS (Harmonized Produce Safety) Standard is designed to serve the needs of US produce industries and those selling into the US produce markets. HPSS is designed to include the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act Produce Safety Rule (FSMA PSR) requirements. HPSS v1.2 is GFSI benchmarked.

The PHA (Produce Handling Assurance) Standard provides stand-alone food safety certification of post-harvest activities such as cooling, packing and storage. PHA does not cover produce processing such as cooking, freezing, slicing, or juicing. PHA can as needed be used in conjunction with IFA or HPSS farm audits for a complete produce production and packing certification program. PHA is designed to include the FSMA PSR requirements. PHA v1.2 meets GFSI Requirements.
