Foreign Supplier Verification Program
We now offer a comprehensive study of the compliance requirements for the FDA's Foreign Supplier Verification Program for yourself or your team. This program covers verification procedures for all imported food shipments of food subject to the Preventive Control rule or the Standards for Produce Safety rule, where from time of entry the FDA requires the food importer to declare through Customs’ and FDA’s electronic entry filing systems the Name, the Facility Address, and the Unique Identifier (the DUNS#) of the person designated as the “FSVP importer” for the shipment.
You may be the FDA Registered FSVP Importer:
“The U.S. owner or consignee of the imported food product at the time of entry. This includes the party in the U.S. who is the actual owner or purchaser of the food at the time of entry. This could include a U.S. party who has agreed in writing to purchase the food.

IFS PACsecure - Packaging, Logistics, and Broker
International Featured Standards (IFS)
The IFS comprise eight different food and non-food standards, covering the processes along the supply chain. However, IFS does not specify what these processes must look like but merely provides a risk-based assessment of them. The different standards are now used by manufacturers and retailers worldwide to meet new requirements for quality, transparency and efficiency resulting from globalization. From among the IFS standards, Ceres Certifications, International (CCI) specializes in IFS PACsecure, IFS Logistics, and IFS Broker 2.
IFS PACsecure
While most other packaging standards have been developed by modifying a food standard to apply to the manufacture of food packaging, IFS PACsecure is a standard designed specifically for the manufacture of food packaging. The PACsecure Standard - now the IFS PACsecure Standard - was developed by the Packaging Consortium in Canada and in conjunction with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and industry representatives. The risk based approach of IFS certification offers flexibility regarding the implementation of the requirements. IFS certification is non-prescriptive and offers a number of key benefits to companies striving for excellence in quality, safety and customer satisfaction, and seeking a competitive advantage in their market place.
Ceres Certifications, International (CCI) is able to audit to the scopes of flexible packaging, rigid plastic, and paper packaging. CCI auditors' professional experience includes years of engineering and management of packaging manufacturing and converting. Their practical experience provides an ability to assess effectiveness of the preventative controls in place at the facilities.
IFS Logistics
IFS Logistics is a standard for companies, offering logistics services like transport and storage. It is a Standard for auditing companies whose activities are logistics oriented for food and non-food products, such as transport, storage, loading/unloading, etc. It applies to all types of transport: delivery by road, rail, ship or plane; frozen/refrigerated products or ambient stable products (different states of matter: liquid, solid or gas). This standard also applies to (un-)freezing service providers as well as for logistics companies using service providers for their transport and/ or storage activities.
IFS Broker 2
As supply chain globalization grows, raw materials and products continue to be sourced in new ways and from different sources. Brokers, agents, and importers are an integral element in bringing producers and retailers together. IFS Broker was created to ensure the safety and quality of products filling the gap between production and distribution. Trading partners expect broker, agents, and importers to communicate their product requirements to manufacturers and that these specifications will be understood and implemented.
The standard checks the engaged parties to ensure that they have implemented appropriate measures in their service so that their suppliers operate in accordance with product safety and quality requirements. Brokers, agents, and importers must also monitor their supplier’s compliance with these issues so that supplied products meet regulatory and contractual specifications.
